Top 7 anticipated features of the S8
Scott Navratil

Samsung has been in the news alot lately due to the Note 7 explosion incidents. It is a huge fiasco that may hurt the company drastically. That is why it is more important than ever for Samsung to be able to release a new phone next year that makes people forget all about the Note 7 explosions and start looking forward to more from Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be released on February 26, 2017, and there have been many rumors about the features that will come with it. Here are the top 7 anticipated features, according to Forbes, that you can expect with the Galaxy S8.

1. No home button on display

The Galaxy S8 will likely have an edge-to-edge display with no home button on it. This is a rumor of what is expected on the new iPhone as well, so it may be a trend we start seeing regularly on smartphones. Given that they are the most competitive phones with one another on the market, it just makes sense that they would both focus on the same type of appearance and functionality.

2. Best resolution yet

We are anticipating 4K resolution screens to be put on the Galaxy S8 in order to ensure the highest resolution possible. The biggest advantage to this screen resolution is the ability to make the VR experience even better than before, though it is also a huge advantage over other smartphones in the marketplace. It also means that when you use SMS marketing with your consumer, they will be able to see images very well that you send them, so make sure you are sending high quality advertisements instead of pictures shot with an old iPhone camera.

3. Better camera than ever before

As with any new smartphone release, a better camera is expected. But what you don’t know is that it will be a dual-lens camera making it possible to take sharper pictures than ever before. It will allow you to really zoom in and get nice shots at the same time.

4. New chipsets added

The new S8 is anticipated to have a new Samsung Exynos 8895 chipset internationally and Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset in the US. The reason why this is important is because it will increase image processing efficiency by 70% compared to past models. Users are always looking for faster phones, and the S8 promises to deliver in that arena.

5. USB instead of headphone jack

Another Apple-esque move will be the removal of a headphone jack. It is anticipated that a USB will be included on the side of the phone for using headphones if a user would still like to do so, so hope isn’t all lost if you are used to jogging headphones plugged in.

6. Better graphics

As more and more consumers are playing games on their phones instead of through traditional video game systems or desktop computers, the graphics have had to be improved on smartphones. It is especially important if the VR reality is going to keep improving. The ARM Mali-G71 graphics ship is anticipated to be in the Galaxy S8, giving the phone better efficiency, better performance, better memory, and just a lot more power overall when it comes to graphics.

7. Edge screens available

The S8 is expected to still have the edge screen that many users have grown to love, but it will now come in two different sizes. The 5.1-inch display and 5.5-inch displays will allow users to choose how large they really want their phone screens. There’s been no word yet on the Note 8, but we are guessing a new Note will be necessary to revive the Note brand after the Note7 had so many issues.
